Carroll Hospice
Patient and Family Experiences

Every patient has a different hospice experience, and we’re grateful to be a part of each end-of-life journey at Carroll Hospice.

We are touched when we receive notes from patient families that thank us for the care their loved one has received. We would like thank them for allowing us to be a part of the journey.

Here are just a few examples of the kind words shared about our hospice care:

  • Hospice was a huge blessing for our family. I am very grateful for the hospice staff who could handle the things our family didn't have the experience to deal with. They just let us be there for [my father] and not have to worry about anything else.
  • When my dad was [at Dove House], the staff was unbelievable. Very caring—anything they could do to ease my dad’s pain to make him comfortable, they would do.
  • I don’t have the words to describe how compassionate and caring virtual strangers to us were to my dad, and when my mom came [to visit him], how they were so there for her. And I think that was the big ‘a-ha’ for me. Hospice is not only for the patient, but they’re here for the family. And that’s been our experience the many times we’ve had a loved one here at Dove House.
  • May God bless every one of you and keep you going strong. The work you do has amazing impact for good. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts.
  • [Chaplain Nancy Ginsberg’s] words and song helped us to understand and celebrate the life of my father and think about life and death in a new perspective. Chaplain Nancy was the shining bright light that we will remember in the last hours of my father’s life that made it bearable.
  • You have an awesome facility. I shall never forget that blessed night our brother came to you. Though it was brief, it was an experience in a lifetime.
  • Words alone are not enough to thank each of you for the loving care and compassion shown to all of us with Mother. Losing a mother is difficult, but your constant compassion, understanding and support helped us in so many ways I cannot express. … Overall our hospice experience was very positive and well above our expectations.
  • The nurses loving and so caring attitude made [my wife] feel safe and secure. Grateful cannot describe the way we both felt. I shall be eternally grateful for hospice, until the day I can be with [my wife].
  • We want to thank all the staff for the care given to my mother. She had a long road, but with all the special care it made it a lot easier.
  • There are no words to express how my mom and I felt about the care my dad received in the short time he was there. The nurses go above and beyond, as do the doctors and volunteers. The morning Dad passed, they allowed us all the time we needed to gather ourselves. We are very grateful for everyone there.
  • Your staff took such wonderful care of our mother, from the moment she arrived until she died. Her family filled the room and was trying hard to let her know how much she was loved. The nurses gave good advice and were kind, so very kind. Thank you.
  • I would like to extend a big THANK YOU to the nursing staff at Dove House for the wonderful care they gave my dad during the last couple days of his life. His stay was very brief, but your compassionate care, kindness and the dignity you showed Dad will never be forgotten.
  • Our family was so impressed with the care that was provided to our father through Carroll Hospice. From the moment he said he was ready for hospice care up until his passing at Dove House, we were so very grateful to have the help and support needed to take care of him. As heartbreaking as it was to watch our dad lose his battle to cancer, it was at the same time comforting to us knowing he was being taken care of in a way that we could no longer do for him. Thank you, thank you, thank you.
